In 1991 Conny Lundin and Jan Karlsson decided to realise an idea that was ripe for the time. They formed a company that would specialise in facade solutions in glass and aluminium. The result was Flex Fasader AB, based in the city of Örebro and serving the whole of Sweden and Norway.
In the first few years the company grew slowly but steadily. Annual turnover fluctuated around SEK 10 million. Ten years later, turnover had reached around SEK 200 million and the workforce had grown from a handful of people to over 60 employees.
Success breeds success
One major reason for this success is that Flex Fasader gradually built up strong relationships with well-known building companies in both Sweden and Norway. This was done by successfully completing a large number of complex projects – often using specially adapted designs.
As a result of these projects we are now regarded as one of the leading companies in the Nordic region for handling large and complex facade projects. This position is confirmed by the fact that we have won a number of awards over the years. Most recently, we won the competition for “Stockholm’s Building of the Year” for the Hekla development, Ericsson’s new office building in Kista.
